PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Ioannis Binietoglou studied Applied Physics at the Applied Sciences Department of the National Technical University of Athens, where he graduated in 2006. He holds a M.A. in History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (University of Athens, Greece / 2008) and a PhD in atmospheric remote sensing (University of Basilicata, Italy / 2014).

 

He has worked as aerosol remote sensing scientist in the Italian National Research Council (CNR-IMAA / 2011-2014), the National Observatory of Athens (2016-2017), and Raymetrics S.A. (2017-2020). He is currently a researcher in National Institute of R&D for Optoelectronics (INOE-2000), Bucharest, Romania and at the National Observatory of Athens, Greece.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Remote sensing technologies, lidar algorithm development, instrument synergies.

   
   

 

About Us

ReACT stands for “Remote sensing of Aerosols, Clouds and Trace gases”, to describe the research focus of the respective research team led by Dr. Vassilis Amiridis. ReACT consists of highly motivated scientists within the field of Atmospheric Sciences, combining a number of Post-doc researchers, Ph.D. and M.Sc. students as well as other research and technical staff, using the resources, infrastructure and experience of the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing (IAASARS).
