ReACT Team members Dr.Eleni Marinou, Anna Gialitaki and Spyros Metallinos, taking all the necessary safety and health measurements to keep social distance from the local population, visited the island of Antikythera for the repair and maintenance of the RI's instruments lidar PollyXT-NOA and CIMEL Sun Photometer.
Both instruments will be participating in an ACTRIS European experiment for studing the climate impact of the SARS-CoV-2 lockdown. 24/7 observations of the climate conditions for the following period will be performed, aiming to detect the aerosol changes within the global health crisis. The atmospheric composition measurements will be analysed in near real time within ACTRIS which will provide crucial information on aerosol and trace gases variables during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemics.
